BPM and key questions
What is BPM?
BPM means beats per minute: how fast a song is. Gengetone usually sits around 100 to 115, Afrobeats around 100 to 110, amapiano near 112 to 115, and drill around 140 (often felt as 70).
What is the Camelot number?
It is a DJ shorthand for keys. Tracks whose Camelot codes are the same or next to each other (8A and 9A, or 8A and 8B) blend smoothly when mixed.
Why does my beat show half or double the tempo?
A track at 70 BPM with a busy hi-hat can sound like 140. Both are right musically. Producers usually quote the one that matches how the drums feel.
Should I list the BPM when I sell a beat?
Yes. Buyers filter by tempo and key, so adding both to your beat title or description on Ziki helps the right artists find you.
